“Gosos” della Resurrezione. La parola gosos, pur avendo una radice latina in gaudium, ha tuttavia una palese derivazione catalana e spagnola sia nell’inflessione che nell’uso: gozo/gozare (godimento). Il termine viene utilizzato per indicare i canti di lode in onore dei santi (gògius in Campidano, gòcius in Marmilla e Sarcidano, gozos in Mandrolisai e Barbagia, cotzos nell’alto Oristanese, goigs in catalano, ad Alghero). Le armonie vocali e l’uso del bendir maghrebino contribuiscono a una maggiore modernità nel pieno rispetto della tradizione.

“Gosos” of the Resurrection.The word gosos, despite its Latin root in gaudium, is nevertheless clearly derived from Catalan and Spanish in both inflection and usage: gozo/gozare (enjoyment).The term is used to indicate songs of praise in honour of the saints (gògius in Campidano, gòcius in Marmilla and Sarcidano, gozos in Mandrolisai and Barbagia, cotzos in the upper Oristanese, goigs in Catalan, in Alghero).The vocal harmonies and the use of the Maghrebi bendir help to give the piece a greater modernity that fully respects tradition.
